Patients to get access to consultants within 24 hours

Hospitals across the capital are introducting a new system to speed up the time it takes for patients to see a consultant.

The move will end the need for paper referral forms to book appointments and is being described as a "digital healthcare revolultion".

The Evening Standard's Health Editor Ross Lydall explained the changes.
