Female film pioneers celebrated at the BFI

The French Filmaker Agnes Varda and the Herne Hill born actress and producer Ida Lupino are among the female pioneers of the film industry being celebrated at the BFI Southbank in June.

To tie in with the events to mark 100 years of women winning the right to vote, the institute is hosting a number of talks, screenings, and a one day summit.

The Summer season is on throughout June at the BFI Southbank.
