'Shebeen' award-winning play inspired by Windrush

A new timely award-winning play, inspired by the Windrush generation has opened in East London. Set in Nottingham, Shebeen explores tensions in the build up the city's Race riots in 1958. It gives a glimpse into the carribean community and their experiences. Martina Laird stars as Pearl, the matriarch who runs the illegal bar in her home.
