New £700,000 Oxford Street transformation

Westminster Council has agreed on a new plan to transform Oxford Street, after blocking the Mayor's dream of pedestrianising the area. The local authority's cabinet has now approved a scheme which will cost it more than 700,000 pounds. It says the plan will improve pollution, give people more space, and connect the area to the wider west end.
