Clapham North family MOT Garage faces uncertain future

A family which have run a car garage in South London for almost 60 years say they're fighting to keep the buisness afloat, after a sudden rent rise of 345%.

Ronnie Grant and his son George have been using a railway arch in Clapham North - owned by Network Rail. But the company is now selling off its £1.4 billion property portfolio - with thousands of small businesses based in the arches facing an uncertain future.

Network Rail said in a statement that its rents were competitive and that it will work with tenants who are struggling to pay.
