Seeing with your skin: growing a retina

Scientists at UCL are working on a project, which could eventually lead to a cure for rare genetic eye conditions. Using cells from patients, the team are growing eye parts to test the effectiveness of drugs in delaying or preventing diseases. The complex experiment also involves tiny fish. Dr Mariya Moosajee is leading the project, and also works at both Moorfields and Great Ormond Street hospitals.
