Artist transforms underpass into 'Happy Street'

A dismal and scruffy underpass in Battersea is to be transformed into a brightly coloured and welcoming environment with coloured panels and changing lights.

Called Happy Street, the interactive and multi-sensory installation floods the area around Thessaly Road railway bridge with colour and scent which promises to create a stimulating experience for everyone who travels through.

The London Festival of Architecture and Wandsworth Council  have commissioned London-based artist Yinka Ilori for the scheme.
