Generations unite for Christmas carols

Every weekday for the next fortnight, 10 London school choirs will be performing carols at The Old Vic theatre for older members of the community.

The theatre has opened its doors to both generations after saying they were inspired by the lessons at the heart of Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol' - which is currently being performed on the main stage.

Almost one million people in the UK will spend Christmas alone this year, and the Old Vic are helping to combat this.
