Barbican plans new concert hall

An update has been given on plans to create a new multi-million pound concert hall, run by the Barbican, and home to the London Symphony Orchestra.

The conductor Sir Simon Rattle, the driving force for the new centre, has long insisted that London lacks a world class venue, which could attract the best in the industry, and act as a cultural hub.
