Phoenix Cinema's bid to raise £20,000

A North London cinema is has resorted to crowdfunding to stay independently open.

The Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley is trying to raise £20,000 and has received the backing of filmmaker Ken Loach.

Bosses were in talks with Curzon Cinema last year with the intention of selling off the building to be part of a chain but instead have decided to do all they can to remain independent.
