It's Not About the Burqa: Muslim Women on Faith, Feminism, Sexuality and Race

A new book has brought together the stories and experiences of more than a dozen Muslim women,  with the aim of putting stereotypes, Islamophobia and oppression to rest.

Mariam Khan's anthology ‘It's Not About the Burqa’ covers everything from a disconnect between muslim women and feminist movements, to attitudes towards divorce and the taboo of talking about sex.

Anthony Baxter has been speaking to Mariam and the presenter Salma El-Wardany, who has written one of the essays.

The book is out now
