New Holocaust memorial faces criticism

Plans for a new Holocaust memorial in Victoria Tower Gardens have been defended after it emerged Unesco has lobbied against the development, claiming it could affect the Palace of Westminster's status as a World Heritage site.

The £100 million pound scheme next to parliament, would include building an underground education centre, requiring the removal of several ancient trees.

Westminster City Council is expected to vote on planning permission later this year as Tanya Francis reports.
