Private hire drivers take legal action over congestion charge
1st March 2019

From 8 April, private hire vehicle drivers will have to pay the £11.50 daily congestion charge to drive in central London because the mayor is trying to improve the capital's congestion and air pollution.

The mayor's office says a rise in private hire vehicles is increasing congestion and air pollution and as a consequence will be removing the congestion charge exemption from private car vehicles - but United Private Car Drivers says it's recriminatory and unfair.
