It is one of London's mysteries - with many offering theories - but no one ever really getting to the bottom of it.

Why the capital has it's own thriving population of parakeets is now the subject of a new book, which doesn't try to find answers, but instead shares the capital's love hate relationship with the birds.

Nick Hunt is the author of The Parakeeting of London, he's been speaking to Luke Blackall.
