Appeal for 4,000 new black blood donors

The NHS has issued an urgent appeal for new black and ethnic minority blood donors, saying as many as 4,000 people are needed to meet demand.

The health service says the current shortage is limiting its ability to help patients with sickle cell - a condition that mainly affects black people.
