Shocking statistics reveal daily abuse levelled at retail workers

The Government has launched a call for evidence to tackle violence and abuse against shop staff.

New figures have found that shop workers in the capital are verbally or physically abused on average 26 times a year.

The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers has confirmed that nearly 50% of workers in London were threatened last year - which is the highest rate in the UK.
