Ruby Lovell: creating diverse children's books

With a new study showing that under 2% of children's authors in the UK are people of colour, one writer is hoping to change the game.

In her latest book about a mixed-race girl exploring the tropical island of Sri Lanka, Ruby Lovell is hoping to engage children with different cultures and provide them with a chance to see themselves in stories.

Ruby Lovell's latest book 'Stop That Monkey, He Stole Ruby's Ice Lolly!' is out on the 11th May.
