Creating the largest comedy venue outside of central London

A venue which in its heyday had regular performances from The Beatles, Johnny Cash and The Who is set to reopen for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The former EDM Cinema in Walthamstow has been bought by Waltham Forest Council - which was made London's first ever Borough of Culture this year.

The site will be run by Soho Theatre, and after its three-year restoration will be the biggest comedy venue outside of central London.

Today, residents and special guests including comedian Shappi Khorsandi got to see through Virtual Reality what it will look like after the restoration.
