London teenager launches a new campaign to help tackle knife crime

The latest knife crime figures show levels in London reached a record high in the 12 months to April, with close to 15,000 offences reported to police.

The stats from the Office for National Statistics reveal a 1% rise on the previous year.

It comes as one teenager from South London has told London Live that she fears a shock tactic used by Scotland Yard to deter young people from carrying weapons, could in fact be adding to the problem.

Tanya Francis reports.
