New multi-million pound youth zone built in Croydon

In the week the mayor announced a one million pound investment in sports programmes to stop young Londoners falling into violent crime, a new multi-million pound youth zone has been built in Croydon.

The project cost nearly 7 million pounds, designed to offer teenagers a range of activities to enjoy in a safe space, with the borough having one of the highest rates of  youth crime in the country.
