London benefitting from apprenticeships

A new study suggests that the hiring of apprentices brought in more than £40million for the UK economy last year with London benefiting more than any other region.

The Office for National Statistics said that firms hiring apprentices brought nearly £3,000 extra per apprentice hired.

The statistics come as many young Londoners recieve their GCSE results tomorrow.

Pub Chain Greene King is one such company urging the government to do more when it comes to investing in the scheme.
