Independent productions celebrated in annual film festival

The British Urban Film Festival has opened its doors for an annual festival celebrating independent productions and the cast and crew who make them.

The event launched last night, and named the London born actor and director Noel Clarke, as the recipient of its honorary award for his 20 year career in the industry.

Tanya Francis spoke to two of the directors nominated for prizes - Lavinia Simina and Luke Hefferman

Both their films, Acceptable Damage and Stray Dog, will be screened at the MET film school in Ealing on Wednesday.
