IWGB to stage biggest walkout in history of outsourced workers in higher education

The Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain says it's members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action at University College London. It says the walkout on the 19th of November will be the biggest by outsourced workers in higher education history - with hundreds of cleaners, porters and security staff staging a protest over zero hour contracts.

UCL have said in response that they're committed to ensuring that security, cleaning and catering staff receive the same or equivalent pay as directly employed staff, after negotiations with trade union, UNISON.
