Green Party Mayoral candidate Zoë Garbett becomes London Assembly member

The Green Party’s Zoe Garbett is ‘raring to go’ as she enters city hall as the new Green Party London Assembly member.

The surprise announcement comes as Sian Berry resigned from her role on the London Assembly, just three days after winning re-election.

Stepping aside she will instead run to replace Caroline Lucas as the Green mp for Brighton pavilion.

Her departure from City Hall means that the party’s mayoral candidate, Zoe Garbett, takes her place, without the need for a by-election.

She told London Live how excited she was to work for toward a better London on fist day in the position.
