Londoners and beyond pay their respects to the Queen at Buckingham Palace

Thousands of mourners huddled under umbrellas as rain poured down outside Buckingham Palace on Friday.

Undeterred by the elements, the public continued to congregate and pay their respects to the Queen.

Queues to lay flowers, or to leave cards, soft toys and other mementos at the railings grew throughout the day.

Tanya Francis went to the Palace to speak to the members of the public about what the Queen means to them.
