Man arrested after making hoax bomb threat on plane

A man has been arrested and sectioned under the mental health act after making a hoax bomb threat on a flight from Doha to Manchester.

The Qatar airlines plane was escorted to Manchester Airport by RAF jets after the pilot received a note from a passenger saying there was a possible device on board.

The 47 year old man was removed from the plane after it landed safely.
