Returning extremist fighters may get worse
27th June 2014

Britain’s policy for prosecuting extremist fighters who return from Syria, will only make matters worse, according to expert Richard Bennet.

Bennet says the system is failing to stop young Muslims joining extremist rebels.

The former MI6 Counter Terrorism officer is warning that depending on how the fighters are treated when they come back, may further radicalise them.

He believes 'the fighters should have a chance to be 'reintegrated' into society.
