Sleeping man falls into Thames

A man was rescued on Saturday night after falling asleep on a river wall and subsequently rolling into the Thames.

The man woke up just seconds before plunging into the North foreshore near Blackfriars Bridge.

He became stranded in the shallow water and was taken by lifeboat crews to safety.

The man was able to stand and didn’t sustain any serious injuries.
