Citizens of Soil, the olive oil made by one London duo during lockdown
As the capital begins to reopen we have been speaking to Londoners who set up businesses from their own homes during the pandemic or had to drastically change the way they work to survive.
After many trips to Greece and many delicious meals, Michael and Sarah Vachon fell in love with the quality and flavour of the olive oil made in Crete.
They saw lockdown as the perfect opportunity to champion small-scale farmers and shed a light on the products they make and so ‘Citizens of Soil’ was born.
The London couple set up their own business and brand during the pandemic and have been speaking to Tanya about their story.
They also gave her an insight into how to properly try olive oil – not too dissimilar from wine tasting!
