Sadiq Khan calls for vaccine to be given to young people in boroughs with Indian variant

As London takes the next step in reopening, the Mayor of London has urged ministers to increase the vaccine rollout in the capital, particularly in areas were the Indian variant has been detected.

Sadiq Khan says there are pockets of concern in the capital, and that younger people should be inoculated faster, to prevent a new surge.

This comes as there is surge testing being rolled out in Hackney after cases of the South African and Indian variant were detected.
