London Palestine Film Festival opens with ‘A Grain of Sand’

The London Palestine Film Festival is returning to the capital this month, showcasing a selection of films, plays, and performances that offer insights into Palestinian life, culture, and resistance.

Opening the festival will be A Grain of Sand, the play telling the story of a young Gazan girl searching for hope amidst devastation. The play uses verbatim testimonies from Gaza’s children, collected from the book A Million Kites – poems and testimonies that were compiled between October 2023 and March 2024 by Leila Boukarim and Asaf Luzon to support aid organizations in Gaza.

A Grain of Sand was created and directed by Elias Matar, and is performed solo by Sarah Agha.

The festival runs from Friday 15th – 29th across London, including at the Barbican, Genesis Cinema, Curzon and more.
