Counsellor, Nicola Vanlint on supporting sports star’s mental health

England footballer, Tyrone Mings and England cricketer Ben Stokes have spoken out about how mental health has impacted them, with Stokes saying that he’s taking an indefinite break from cricket as a result.

This comes in the same week that Olympian, Chris Mears, spoke about the mental challenges that come with taking home a medal, and US gymnast Simone Biles withdrew from events last week on mental health grounds.

London based counsellor Nicola Vanlint, who specialises in athletes’ mental health told Alicia more about the challenges facing people in sport.
