Candy: The new Park Theatre production exploring identity, sexuality and masculinity

A new play is exploring identity, sexuality and masculinity through the lens of a man who falls in love with a singer he sees performing on stage.

Or is it infatuation and is she even a real person?

These are all questions actor Michael Waller, who plays the main character, asked himself as he was preparing for the role.

Tanya spoke to him and the writer of the piece about how they came up with the idea for the storyline and why they chose to make it a one man play and never reveal what his one true love looks like.

Candy is on at the Park Theatre from Tuesday next week until the 9th September.
