New book explores the untold stories of the Y service Interceptors who supplied Bletchley Park

Exploring a mostly unknown elite group of women who were recruited during World War 2 as code breakers, a new book delves into the lives of female interceptors at Bletchley Park.

Author Peter Hore has been speaking to Tanya about the complex research that went into creating it and the women he interviewed to help write the book.

Peter looks at the history of the Y-service, with a focus on the girls of the Women’s Royal Naval Service.

His book ‘Bletchley Park’s Secret Source: The Wrens and the Y Service in WW2’ is out now.
