Portraits from Tower Avenue, Jamaica by Dexter McLean

A photographer with cerebral palsy is bringing his award-winning project to a gallery in London.

‘Tower Avenue’ is a series of portraits of people from the town in Jamaica where artist Dexter Mclean grew up.

Inspired by their sense of community the project features photographs of people throughout the generations living in Kingston.

It’s the first solo exhibition by the award-winner, who lives with cerebral palsy, which plays an important part in informing the people and issues he features.

I caught up with Dexter and his support worker Martin on how he’s feeling about his show which is on from the 17 March until the 12 June at Orleans House Gallery.
