Using toilet seat art to raise awareness of global sanitation crisis
British photographer and filmmaker Rankin has teamed up with Wateraid to help raise awareness of the sanitation crisis around the world. One in five people globally don’t have access to a decent toilet at home, and to shine a light on this a series of artworks will go on show this weekend at the Oxo Gallery.
A golden throne and decorated toilets seats form part of the showcase that 25 artists including Boy George have been involved in creating.
Tanya has been speaking to Rankin about ‘Best Seat in the House’ which is on at London Southbank’s Oxo Gallery from today until Sunday 6 February.
