West End productions shut down due to Covid-19 cases
In the last week alone West End productions of the ‘Lion King’, ‘Jersey Boys’ and ‘Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat’ have had to cancel performances hours before they were due to start because of a positive covid case within the cast or production team.
The NHS track and trace app has then led to others having to self-isolate.
The head of the society of London Theatre Julian Bird says the government backed insurance scheme doesn’t cover venues for events like this.
