What is a ‘library marathon’? Meet the Waterstones Children’s Laureate on a mission to promote the community institutions

It’s National Libraries Week and Joseph Coehlo, the Waterstones Children’s laureate, has been on an epic mission the past few years.

Travelling across the country, he’s signed up and collected membership cards from all 209 library authorities across the UK.

As an author, he says he wants to promote the importance of the institutions, and with his ‘library marathon’, encourage more people to join and make use of essential services they provide.

The ‘library marathon’ will culminate in a special, public event at the British Library tomorrow.

He joined Sara in the studio to talk about his adventure, and of course, gave some insight into a few special London library spots!
