A refugee’s story fleeing Kyiv for Camden
The topics of immigration, asylum seekers and refugees are right at the top of the political agenda at the moment, with the government’s Rwanda policy recently ruled unlawful.
Here, focusing instead on the humanity, Paul’s been speaking to Amit Kumar, a chef originally from India who was working in Kyiv when Putin launched his invasion.
Amit fled war and just over a year later has secured his next job as a chef in Camden – travelling via Poland, Paris and Portugal.
He and friends he met along the way documented this raw and harrowing journey through pictures and videos.
