Ai-Da the robot makes historic speech in Parliament

History was made today in the House of Lords, as Ai-Da became the first robot to speak in Parliament.

Ai-Da is a robot artist, specifically designed to push the current limitations of robot technology by being creative.

She’s held solo exhibitions in London’s Tate Modern and the Design Museum, as well as painting a portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth for the Platinum Jubilee.

Ai-Da’s speech in front of the Lords’ Communications and Digital Committee tapped into the possible issues of AI’s growing role in creative industries and Paul’s been speaking to the man behind her creation, Aidan Meller.
