Call for U-turn on mandatory NHS vaccines
There are fears that the double vaccination ruling for healthcare staff in England could lead put unsustainable pressure on the NHS.
The government confirmed earlier this year that all health and social care providers in England will be required to ensure workers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by April 1 2022.
The Chairman of Inmind Healthcare Group, Richard McKenzie says he fears forcing staff to be fully vaccinated could trigger the collapse of the NHS. It’s estimated as many as 100,000 health service workers are currently do not have double vaccination status.
The government says ensuring the maximum number of NHS staff are vaccinated will help ensure the most vulnerable patients gain the greatest possible levels of protection against infection.
