London musician on penning a song for Ukraine 2 years since the conflict started
As the world marks 2 years since Russia invaded Ukraine, singer-songwriter Jamie Lonsdale bought together the voices of 40 Ukrainian refugees living in the UK to perform a new song to the sound of the Ukrainian national anthem.
He’s been speaking to Tanya about what inspired him to write it saying Freedom is something that everyone takes for granted until they lose it, which is why he choose that as the title for the song.
