Mental effects of cancer may be more debilitating than the physical due to the pandemic
The impact of a cancer diagnosis on the mental health of Londoners is greater than coping with the physical aspect of the disease.
That’s the suggestion of a new study by cancer charity Maggie’s – which says close to 80 percent of people in the capital who have experience of cancer found their mental health was affected.
I spoke with Maggie’s Chief executive Dame Laura Lee, along with Hannah, who has stage 4 cancer. The two hadn’t seen each since September because of lockdown – until this interview.
