New “HER2-Positive” Breast Cancer Study receives funding
Breast Cancer claims the lives of around 1000 Brits every month.
A small fraction of those Breast Cancer patients get a rarer sub-type known as “HER2-Positive” Breast Cancer – a more aggressive variant that comes with a higher risk of later developing secondary spread to the brain.
A new study in conjunction with Make 2nds Count (an Edinburgh based Charity) and Breast Cancer Ireland have received almost £220,000 in funding – and will be looking to recruit suitable patients at six locations across the UK – with the biggest centre in London – to take part in the study.
London Live spoke to the chief investigator of the study – to find out more.
