New pedestrian crossing on Battersea Bridge after campaign following the death of jogger Jack Ryan

Following the death of 29 year old Jack Ryan after being struck by a car on Battersea Bridge, a campaign was launched to make the crossing safer.

Journalist Rob McGibbon witnessed the incident in January this year and started a petition to have a pedestrian crossing added.

He gathered more than 26,000 signatures and caught TfL’s attention with  the new lights officially switched on this week.
