Queen’s Lying-in-State queue stretches beyond four miles along the Southbank on first full day

People from all over the UK flocked to London on Thursday to join the queue for the Queen’s Lying-in-State.

Starting in Westminster, the queue crosses the river at Lambeth Bridge before winding for more than four miles along the Southbank – and has been growing in length throughout the day.

Members of the public spoke about their journeys, how long they expect to be queuing for, and why they’ve chosen to pay a final visit to Her Majesty’s coffin.
