Russian exile says invasion in Ukraine is ‘Putin’s war against Western civilisation’
A Russian exile who was forced to flee the country has told London Live that the invasion by Russia in Ukraine is ‘Putin’s war against Western civilisation’.
Yevgeny Chichvarkin, who owns Michelin-starred restaurant Hide and luxury wine store Hedonism – both in Mayfair – said that sanctions against Russian businessmen with no links to the Kremlin are ‘a terrible mistake’, and called for a no-fly zone to be imposed to ‘save lives’.
Nato secretary general Jens Stoltenberg said earlier this month that a no-fly zone implementation could “end up with something that could end in a full-fledged war in Europe, involving many more countries and causing much more human suffering.”
