The artist fighting plans to turn a Forest Hill church tower into flats

A campaign has been launched to raise one million pounds in just over a month to try and save a South-East London Victorian Church tower from re-development.

There are plans to turn the site in Forest Hill into flats, but the artist Henrik Delehag says the deconsecrated church is still a community focal point, and should be saved and used by other artists.

As the current tenant, he has made himself a self-appointed custodian, and is now aiming to raise enough to purchase the property from his private landlord to safeguard its future.

He’s been speaking to Tanya.
