The barbers looking to help black men have difficult conversations

New analysis by Macmillan has found that a quarter of black men don’t feel comfortable enough to discuss things that worry them,  which the charity say is a cause for concern when it comes to the largely symptomless prostate cancer, which black men are twice as likely to get as white men.

So they launched the Barbershop Project, working with a group of London barbers and cancer awareness advocates to break down taboos and normalise conversations about cancer within the barbershop, a cornerstone of the black community here in the capital.
