The Trust Fall: Julian Assange – a new documentary on the WikiLeaks founder

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is still sitting in Belmarsh Prison awaiting the outcome of a High Court extradition hearing. If sent to the United States and found guilty he could face up to 175 years in prison. There he would face trial for the publication of thousands of classified US military documents relating to the war in Afghanistan and Iraq .

A new documentary looks at Assange’s case, with particular focus on infamous leaked footage published on WikiLeaks under the headline ‘Collateral Murder’. It shows a US air strike on Iraqi civilians and two Reuters journalists in 2007.

Paul spoke to the new documentary’s director, Kym Staton, ahead of the film’s release.
